Switching Basemaps

Hi,

Anyone can help to explain what is 'the levels of detail' and " the levels of detail (LOD) are updated based on which basemap is selected"?

From API reference com.esri.ags.layers.supportClasses.LODLevels of detail (LOD) for a TiledMapServiceLayer. Each LOD corresponds to a map at a given scale or resolution. Both resolution and scale are required fields. LOD's are automatically sorted based on scale, so setting level isn't necessary.
