Import Excel in Embedded Content tab

Question

I want to import static excel in to embedded content. I tried it using URL when I go to tab, complete window turns white doesn't show anything. I tried the same with importing PPT, it prompts to open in anther tab and open the PPT as actual.

Do I need to make any changes while setting up this?

I am trying to do something similar. My leadership audience wants a table view of one of my feature classes. I've tried the list widget but have not been able to make the fields line up to make it look like a table. I end up doing a static data dump twice daily and embedding the table in the rich text editor. It's not as clean or efficient as I would like.
