Reasons why layers don't publish to Portal for ArcGIS

Is there a way to get more a more meaningful understanding of why layers or web maps fail to publish from ArcGIS Pro to Portal for ArcGIS?

I am working on a large data migration project to move MapInfo files into ArcGIS Pro and then publish them to Portal for ArcGIS.

In the main most layers 'share' to Portal but every now and then I get a message along the lines of "staging failed" or "failed to publish web layer"

In every case the analysis passes but then it fails and gives a very vague message.

Is there a log file or some other way to determine why some succeed and some fail?

Although very time consuming I just broke the layers into smaller groups until I found the layers that were causing the problems, removed them and then published the entire map again.

Note for Esri: I would be great if the log was able to show which layer(s) it fails on as they would certainly have sped things up.

It refers to a SharingJobLog.log file located at
C:\Users\<USERPROFILE>\AppData\Local\ESRI\ArcGISPro\Staging\SharingProcesses

Thanks Derek, very much appreciate you taking the time to reply but unfortunately the log file does not give me any additional insight into why the process failed. In the example below it showed two failed messages around consolidation and one that the staging failed. If I could figure out which layers are failing that would be very useful as many of the ones that are failing have a large number of layers but it does not seem to be the number of the layers as I have had one with over 500 layers succeed.
