Create Features Polygon tool doesn't show outline of feature as I create it

Question

For some reason the outline of the polygon features I am creating has disappeared while I construct them. I can only see the green vertice points until I finish the polygon. I can't seem to find a way to turn it back on so I can visually see the outline of the polygon as I am creating it.
I'm creating features from SPOT imagery and it's very difficult; being able to see the geometry of the polygon helps with accuracy.
Any help is welcome.

Are you working with a layer that has a "regular" or DDP page definition query on it, or a layer with symbology based on an attribute?  I know it sounds obvious, but I catch this happening to me every so often even after all these years.  The new feature will show with selected symbology including its vertices and then disappear when the selection is removed, and not come back.  Another possibility is that you are editing a dataset that is read only for some reason or locked; although in the latter case you shouldn't have been allowed to go into edit session.

Check the template properties for the layer you are editing. Begin your edit session, open the "Create Features" tab, right click on the layer, and select properties. Does the drawing symbol have an outline? if not, change the template properties.

Jim thankyou for your response. I appreciate your time.
I've checked all of the suggestions you wrote to above. The outline for the polygon is present_no Fill symbology. And the template has the correct symbology in the properties manager in the editing interface.
All of the polygon layers are behaving the same way in the editing environment. I can only see the vertices I place on the screen, as opposed to the feature's growing geometry as I work on it.
This occured all of a sudden. It was fine yesterday. No clue as to how to repair the issue.

Check the template properties for the layer you are editing. Begin your edit session, open the "Create Features" tab, right click on the layer, and select properties. Does the drawing symbol have an outline? if not, change the template properties.
