Units for AGSLocation velocity?

The documentation for AGSLocation defines the velocity attribute as follows:

Does anyone have any more information on this attribute - like perhaps the unit of velocity? Meters/sec? MapUnits/sec?

I believe this is just a pass-through of the CLLocation speed property. It is meters/second.
