Operation View in browser - Summary Count widget shows (null)

Hi.

I downloaded the latest version of the Operations Dashboard, and created a very simple Operation View. I did add the Summary Widget, where I do a count on features. I am not using any Filter on the Data Source. The Data Source is a point featureclass.
I only want to show the number of features. Simple 🙂

It works well using the Desktop application.

But when I open the Operation View in a browser, the Summary Widget only shows (NULL)...

Is this a known bug ?

I'm unable to reproduce this. Could you share the map you are using with me, as well as the operation view? The easiest way to do that is to create a group and invite kylie_org.

Is the point feature layer hosted, or coming from your ArcGIS for Server? If from ArcGIS Server, what version is it?

I have invited you to a new group and I have shared the map and operation view.

The point layer is hosted on my ArcGIS Server, and it is running 10.2.1. But you will reach the service 🙂

Please remember that we are using Norwegian Regional setting, with comma as a decimal symbol 🙂

Ah ha! Thanks for sharing, I was able to see the problem and identify what is going on. You are using a map service... in this initial release, the browser version doesn't support using a map service as a data source. You'll need to use a feature service as the data source in the browser. We're working on adding support to the browser for using map services as data sources.

I tried to use a Feature Service as Data Source, but I still have the same problem. I have created a new operation view for you in the same group.

I can reproduce it with your feature service. I tested again using one of my own feature services, and I don't see it with that one. I created an operation view with your feature service and I do still see the same thing. We'll look into it! Thanks!

We have figured out where the problem lies, and we are looking into where a fix is needed and how to best do so. I will keep you posted!

We have confirmed that it is a bug and are working on a fix. The details are that server's response case doesn't match the case that was requested.

I can't seem to access the test case you made for me, but in our testing this is now fixed. Please let me know if you are still seeing issues.

Kylie: I am sorry for not giving you feedback earlier.... Its been crazy busy ....

I did test this, but the count is not correct using the browser. In Desktop the count = 20. This is correct. In the browser, the count is = 24. ....

I did also add a Layer Filter, and this also do return different counts.

You should still have access, because it is shared with the group, and you are still a member of this group.

Kylie: I have now updated the webmap and operations view. Now you should be able to use it. Using Desktop I do get a count of 48. Using IE as browser, I do get a count of 114 !!!
You can also use the layer filter called "Reported", and you will get different counts.

We have same issue... Summary widget displays counts perfect on desktop operations dashboard but says 'No Data' when viewed through browser.

Could you share the map with a group and invite kylie_org to that group? This issue was resolved in a previous released of the web version of Operations Dashboard (sorry for not chiming in again over here and wrapping it up!)

I do not have administrative privileges to invite you to join a group...

We have a web map using services on our server... the web map is shared with the organization....

Do the services have to be added to AGOL contetnt within the web map & have their own share settings within the organization?

No, you won't have to add all your services as AGOL items.

I don't have access to content that is just shared with your organization. If you can create a public repo case, I'd be happy to take a look (just post a link to the map). Otherwise, you'll probably have to work with support to figure out what is going on.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I believe what you are seeing, but to figure out why we'd have to be able to see the same thing. We'd need to see the data that is being used, as well as the operation view.

We are seeing the exact same issue with the Operational Dashboard browser viewer hosted on our Portal. The same service will work with a bar chart but not with a summary or gauge widget. Strange stuff. Would love to get some insight into this.

Hi Chris,

The data source of my summary widget that displays "No Data" message is an Oracle View table (Oracle 11g) that I published in one of my on-premise map services. I added the service URL of view table as an external data source in Operations Dashboard to be able to use it in the Summary widget. Unfortunately, you will not be able to access my on-premise map services. So, as an alternatively I attached here the screen shots of the widgets panel my Operation Views both in Windows and Browser versions.

The photo on the right is OpDashboard-browser version while the photo on the left is the Windows version of the OpDashboard. I think it is important to take note that the two widgets (Summary and Bar) have the same data source (Oracle View Table) and the bar widget works fine in both versions of OpDashboard.

Your issue (maybe different from Ryan's) is BUG-000088087 - The count value in the Summary widget in Operation..

We're currently looking in to this issue. The fault could be tied to the Object ID field, which we're investigating. If you look at your table layer in REST, does it have the ESRI_OID as it's Object ID field?

My Oracle table has an ID field. When we publish the table, the ID is being read as ObjectID in my REST directory as shown in the picture below:

Thank you for taking time looking at this issue. One of our clients is planning use the browser version of the OpsDashboard using the same set-up from my previous post so this concern is really critical to us. Hoping for a positive response soon.

OK, yours might be a different issue then. The screenshot tells a lot- your OBJECTID field is just a name, not a true OID field since it's an integer field. A true object ID field is maintained by the database and has a specific field type:

This could be the problem and can cause widgets to fail. Can you try with another layer/table that has this field with the summary widget and let me know?

i am having the same issue with the online dashboard. All the figures are wrong and do not correspond with the attribute table. Was there ever a fix for this?
