Layer (Lyr file) to Excel

Question

I wonder if there is a way in arcgis were i could convert/export a symbology/Lyr file to excl file or similar?

I got a landuse layer which is already symbolized and when i export it to excel (for analyze), i have only the codes. the description is in the symbology definition. can i export symbology to execl?

I had a similar question.  Do you know if there's a way to take a .lyr file and convert it to something human readable?  Thanks

I don't believe so, but you could create a field in your feature class, and then calculate those description values based on the code values from the existing field. Are these coded domain values?
