Reset XY Tolerance of an existing featureclass

Is there a way to reset the XY Tolerance, XY Resolution, of an existing featureclass without recreating them. I have featureclasses with lot of data and I don't want to go through the process of recreating and re-loading them.

Have you already looked into ISpatialReferenceResolution.SetDefaultXYResolution and ISpatialReferenceTolerance.SetDefaultXYTolerance?
