Uploading to SDE from Flex Viewer

What is the best way to upload shapefiles (from users local drive) to an SDE served through geodata service? Can this be done using only flex?

The best way would be to use the geoprocessing widget. I haven't used it too much so I can't really give you a step by step but essentially you would need to be build a model (maybe using the append tool), then publish it and use it in the geoprocessing widget. If you use the application builder, I believe it helps you configure the GP widget very well!
