Create Cross Section with Contour lines

Question

I need to create a 2-D cross section with contour.  Anybody know how to do that?  I have 3-D Analyst.

You create TIN from contours lines, then create cross section from TIN

Hi Winnie,

You could use the 3D Toolbar to create a profile graph of the elevation along your contour.

First you would need to interpolate your contours into a 3D surface.

Add the newly created elevation surface to a map document and either use the Interpolate Line tool on the 3D Analyst toolbar to trace your area of interest.
