I'm having trouble importing my 2.6 or earlier WAB apps into 2.7. I repeatedly get the error: error parsing server result

Have you tried the command line upgrade?
Upgrade apps—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (Developer Edition) | ArcGIS for Developers
That worked, thanks Robert. Much nicer method that importing them one by one to 2.7.
