Is it ever necessary to rebuild indexes on the SDE tables?

I was just wondering if there is any regular maintenance practice that should be performed on the SDE system tables after a weeks worth of work?

The answer in general is always a YES.

However, what maintenance tasks should be performed depends on your editing workflows, setup, etc.
