Flow direction

Question

Folks, is there any ArcGIS tool that can be used to optimally detect and show the possible fertilizer leach flow direction from a warehouse with only DEM/DTM and the point of the warehouse?  We are really arguing here: Can some one help to keep the record straight?

There is indeed a Flow Direction—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop tool, but read the help very carefully, you have to fill sinks first ( Sink—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop  ) and some other considerations dealing with the dem.  These are covered in this link Understanding drainage systems—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop  amongst others.

The Spatial Analyst Extension has a hydrology toolset that could be used for what you have in mind.

If I remember correctly there also is a tool that allows you to place a point and it will then directly show the flow path.

However, big assumption here, I assume you are talking about surface runoff, not groundwater flow.
