When/How to make connections in the Telecom Domain Network?

Question

I've watched @RobertKrisher 's video describing the process of loading data into the utility network a few times now. But I don't see connections from fiber to connectors and connectors to patch panels covered.

At what stage does that occur? Is that a manual process that occurs after the load into the UN? Are there tools assist with this?

Currently, our distribution and access fiber connections are recorded and modeled in openDCIM, a MySQL based web app. Extracting that data is not difficult. I'd rather the process make the connections automatically rather than me do it manually. There are thousands...

Currently, we have the OSP assets in a file geodatabase. Those assets include points for vaults, network closets, etc; lines for the conduit and fiber cables; and polygons for building footprints - nothing I would consider extraordinary.

The goal is to move to the new telecom domain network. Tracing fiber circuits, planning conduit paths for new fiber, planning circuits for new equipment is a need. Also, important is strand census to determine future growth.

Hi @BradBoeckmann, are using your own data model or our Communications Utility Network Foundation data model? Are you modeling your fiber in a traditional domain or the new telecom domain network?

I've not see any tools to auto create the connections, although most of our focus has been on the new telecom domain network release in the ArcGIS Utility Network. I could offer some guidance if you can provide more details on your model.
