June 2026 - New Instant App Gallery - Unable to Publish

Question

With the latest update, and the requirement to move over the the new "updated" Gallery app, I am unable to publish a Gallery that contains anything more than 6 to 8 items. The wheel of doom looms long!

Have tested with a few items, works, have tested without a selected group, works, but as soon as content of any number is added the app refuses to publish.

The gallery app is the cornerstone for the majority of our users to access quick, pre-prepared, maps and data with little or no training - a gallery is used within open data too.

Aside from the annoying lack of functionality to create desktop and mobile responsive views (why can't we set card and row sizes), being unable to publish renders an entire user-base without a solution come the new working week.

Thanks for reporting this issue. We've been able to reproduce the issue on our end and a fix is currently in progress. We'll update here when the fix is in ArcGIS Online.

Hi, yes I can publish other Instant Apps (inc those updated from last week).

The new Gallery app will publish with a handful of items absolutely fine - these items are the same as I'm trying to publish as a larger group, and those that have worked within a Gallery up to last week.

The Gallery should contain 40 items, and on publishing this, it's the circle of doom and does nothing. I refresh the browser and none of the settings have held.

As also mentioned, the removal of ability to define number of items per row and card size is quite head scratching.

@JonathanMcD I created a few gallery apps with groups with 10+ items and was able to publish.  When you press the publish button does anything seem to be happening? Are you able to publish other instant apps?
