My shop is relatively new to UN and all the licensing changes the last year or so.
I'm trying to figure out the lowest level User Type for a user to run traces on UN's in Pro after the new Enterprise 12.0 changes outlined in this article: Licensing Update for Branch Versioning,
And on this documentation page: Work with a utility network | ArcGIS Pro documentation
"The active portal account must be licensed with the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension to create, publish, and edit a utility network in an enterprise geodatabase. Query and trace operations do not require the user type extension."
From those documents it looks like you only need a Viewer account to run traces, and we've seen this is true for the trace tools in the ArcGIS Enterprise Map tools...but this is browser based. We have engineers that prefer to use Pro for these kinds of tasks..and Pro Basic would probably be fine for them since they aren't editing. I figured if I gave them a Creator license (aka Pro Basic), that would be enough. But when they open Pro and add the UN service to their map, the Utility Network tab does not appear on the top ribbon. If I flip them to Professional the tab appears. I can't find anything in the documentation that says "Viewers can only run traces from a web experience...if they want to run traces in Pro you have to elevate them to Professional / (Advanced Editing User Type Extension)"
Anyone else found a solution to this? FYI I'm using Pro 3.6 for this testing. I'm wondering if this is more of a bug or oversight on making trace tools/ Utility Network Tab available in Pro for Creators after the licensing changes at 12.0. I really don't want to give these users higher level Professional licenses if I don't have to?
