Unable to choose model Location for Enterprise 11.5 Urban

Hello,

I set up and installed ArcGIS Enterprise (11.5) Urban on my machine, and am attempting to set up a new model, but am stuck on the Step 1: Choose model location screen.

It will not search for any location, regardless of my input, and there is no continue button.

The only feedback, I get, is that there are no results found.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

We believe this is an instance of .

Urban automatically uses the 1st locator found on the portal. We are using the portal self call to figure out what locators are available.

There is a handle for each locator on the portal that allows you to change the order of the locators:

Once the order is adjusted, double-check in the portal self call response that the locator Urban is supposed to be using as per your expectation, is listed first.

Portal self call example:

https://[PORTAL-URL]/portal/sharing/rest/portals/self?f=pjson
In the JSON you get as a response, look for the "geocode" array:

@SydneyRich Thank you for reaching out. I discussed this with an ESRI Technical Assistant and the outcome was that this might be a known feature of Urban. To successfully start a new model, I had to remove any existing Geocoder and add the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service to start a new Model. Simply adjusting the order did not seem to have any effect.

I am marking both your response and mine as it was slightly a different being that I had to remove any existing geocoders, create a new model, and then I could re-add my geocoders..

Please review the following potential root causes and troubleshooting steps:

Potential root causes:

This usually happens in either of the following two cases:

A) No geolocator is configured on the Enterprise portal.

A custom geolocator is configured, but it doesn't return any location match candidates (e.g. b/c Urban is looking for location attributes that are not present in the custom geolocator).

Recommended troubleshooting steps:

Check if there is a locator configured on the portal --> https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configure-portal-to-geocode-addresses.htm
- And if there is one configured, which locator are you using?
Does location search work in scene viewer?
- If no: likely b/c of A)
- if yes: likely b/c of

Please let us know the outcome based on the troubleshooting steps above.

Thank you for further reviewing this issue. I do have a few geolocators configured with my Portal. It appears to have defaulted to one locator that I did not configure with Urban specifically, and I would consider it a secondary locator.

Secondly, even when I search a known address within the Locator, it will not return a result.

When searching for an address within the Scene Viewer, I receive a result
