How do I add a style from ArcGIS Online or Enterprise to my ArcGIS Pro Project?

This is a total Easter egg that I randomly stumbled upon here in the forums. That question was asking about something very specific, so I wanted to make a more general post.

Find a style you like and download to the place of your choosing. Then add the style to your project.

To find styles posted to ArcGIS Online (AGOL) or Enterprise, follow these steps:

Open Pro and sign in to AGOL or the Enterprise Portal you want to use.
NOTE: I was seeing a lot of symbols in the Living Atlas signed in to AGOL and none using my org's Enterprise Portal. I'm not sure why they wouldn't be the same, but they were.
Open the Catalog pane, choose Portal, click on the Living Atlas icon, and type your search term plus "type:style".

You will get a bunch of styles. They may or may not be any good, so you might have to sift through them. If you hover your mouse over one, it will give you a link to its item page, which may have some useful information.

If you know who published it, you can add that to the search terms:

To use it, right-click on it. The option "Add Style" is the only menu choice.

Alternatively, you can download the .stylx file from the AGOL/Portal item page and use it like any other style file:

It might be more user friendly to do your discovery in a web browser, using the "Styles" filter on the left:

Once you've found a style this way, it should be pretty easy to locate in Pro using the name and owner parameters.

If you have a style you want to share to AGOL or Portal, go to the Catalog pane > Styles and right-click on the style. Choose "Share As Web Style" from the context menu.

The interface for this is similar to sharing a feature layer, so it should be self-explanatory. After that, it becomes an item in AGOL or Portal. If you share it with groups, the org, or publicly, it will be discoverable.

perhaps you might want to request that self answered questions be posted as a Document or a Blog post in the appropriate forum, since this really isn't a self-answered question (you have others on a similar vein).

I did previously inquire about creating blog posts, but was told only Esri staff are allowed to do so.

I didn't know there could be multiple solutions, so I didn't accept it as the solution in addition to mine, but agreed that this gives you enough to go on.
