Basemaps Not Loading and Crashing ArcMap

Hello,

This problem has just started. I try to load a basemap, it doesn't load, the globe spins for a long time. If there are other layers loaded the map area goes all white and non of my layers are visible.

Sometimes ArcMap crashes and Windows stops responding while trying to load the basemap.
It happens in new mxd documents and in old documents that previously loaded base maps with no problem.

I'm using ArcMap in ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.2 If anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

It's suddenly started working again. I'm not sure what happened. I just created another mxd document in a different folder and the basemap loaded in it. Then I went back to check the other document where I'd had the problem a few days ago and the basemap loaded there too.

I'll attach a screenshot of the issue in case it happens again.
