Fill in gaps of a column with certain value

Hey everybody,

I have a column in the attribute table of my layer that is partially filled with values. I would like to fill the gaps with a separately calculated value. Just to clarify: All the gaps should then be filled with this one value.
Is there a way to do that?

Select the rows to be 'filled', r-click on the column, select Calculate Field and enter the value you want (with quotes if text, no quotes if numeric) and press OK.
