Performance of v4.21, compare with v3.33

Anyone got an idea, why the map display performance becomes poor after API for Javascript migrated from v3.33 to v4.21 with same WebMap content. The map content included a local base map of Hong Kong and 5x dynamic layers. The performance of 3D view is much better by compare with 2D map display 😖.

Hi there,

It would be really hard to say why you are seeing what you are seeing without a reproducible case. Would you be able to share your app with us? Also have you tested the app with the latest version 4.27?

Hi UndralBatsukh,

As the demo videos shown, the usage of GPU in 4.21 was "huge" by comparing with 3.33. We also experienced that the map display was delayed. Same client machine and same map services.

We cannot share the application here since they are deployed in client's Intranet. Is there any lead for us to diagnostic?

I will arrange test on latest API first. Thanks for your reply.

we got same experience, as usual, Esri/Arcgis developer doesnt care and cannot really help customer. support license is useless. We also have issue on firefox where if you do a browser accessiblity zoom on certain extent it will clip the popup. WMSLayer not working like the previous WMSLayer.. and probably the issue on graphics not showing on certain GPU is also "will not be addressed"

Changes in layer objects: ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer objects, used in 3.x, are no longer available in version 4.x. Upgrading to 4.x requires using FeatureLayer objects, which can result in more requests to the GIS server and longer loading times for maps and layers, according to some users.
