Snapping point to line?

Question

This doc outlines that:

"When using the map to provide the location of an asset during data collection, mobile workers can snap to existing points—either single places or a point that is part of a line or polygon"

Awesome. But what if I want to snap an (observation) point to anywhere along a line? I'm assuming this isn't do-able out of the box presently but wondering if this may be a future enhancement or Arcade could be used?

I third! For our stormwater outfall inspection, we want to try to pinpoint along a pipe sometimes for when a system was tested, not right at junctions/manholes!

Seconded. My company sometimes needs to put flagging at regular intervals along a line. It would be much easier if we could establish points along that line so we had the location of the flagging recorded.
