I need to hide some fields from the table and pop-ups of a feature service. I can hide the fields, but the "Save Layer" in the menu is greyed out/inactive. I am the owner of the feature service, there is no view. Saving the map also does not save the hidden status of fields. This has always worked before.
Sounds like you are hiding attributes in the Attribute Table. This isn't a layer change, so the option to save layer won't appear:

If you want to turn off fields this way, configure the pop-up. Go to configure pop-up > configure attributes, then turn off visibility on any desired fields. You will now have the option to save to the layer.
