Exporting to PDF

Question

Hello,

I'm using ArcMap 10.6. When exporting to a pdf is there a way to keep the layers separate? I have several shape files that are on top of each other with varying levels of transparency. In the PDF I would like to be able to turn some layers on and off on the fly. Is there a way to do this?
