Make Feature Layer in Model builder produces 229 error

I have model builder that runs find in ArcGIS with Iterate Row feeding into Make Feature Layer by a group number. When I run it in pro I get Error 229 because it says it can't open the Feature Layer (see attached error). I tried to compare my run in ArcGIS to the Pro results and the only thing I can see is where I created a grouping by Group Number in Arcgis it says "GP_Num #'" true and in Pro it says "GP_Num#" false - However it seems to pass through this section ok and the hang up is in the Make Feature Layer. Any thoughts?
