Spatial Filter Query doesn't get selected records in EB

I am configuring an EB app and I want to do a spatial filter query.

Here is my configuration.

But when I use the select tool in the Map the selected records are not passed to the query widget. In the image below you can see that 5 areas are selected but none are indicated on the query widget.

If I make the selection again or change the filter layer to something else and then back again the selection is passed to the widget. I would like this to be passed first time to eliminate the confusing workflow.

Any advice?

@RossFindlayCOC This issue should be solved with today's AGOL 10.2 release. Please give it another try, thanks.
