Will a NAD 1983 (2011) Tile cache overlay older NAD 1983 layers in AGO?

I have new aerials that are in NAD 1983 (2011). Older content in AGO is in the older NAD 1983 projection. If I upload the aerials to AGO will they be able to used with the older NAD 1983 content? I'm unsure how AGO determines compatibility of projections. The coordinates and units should be nearly identical but I wonder if AGO only allow layers with the exact same WKID to coexist in a web map.

I think they should overlay on each other properly, basically reprojecting on the fly. I have seen NAD83 imagery work well with WGS84 imagery in AGOL so I assume this should work too. One way to find out!
