Detect Plant leaves

I'm trying to find a tool that is similar to Adobe's Photoshop's "Magic Wand tool" that auto selects similar parts. In the picture below, I'm trying to build a shapefile for the plant leaves only, and having a tool that auto selects that leaves would be very helpful. I appreciate any help in regards to this matter. Thanks

From your description it sounds like you are looking for a tool similar to the Magic Wand in an ArcGIS workflow. I recently noticed this blog post by one of our colleagues.
