It allows me to edit with notes in the field. However, they are not present when I log back into my desktop.
Hi Ed - You are using markup, which is saved as a layer on your device. You can use it across multiple maps; it's not associated with the map you were using when you created it. To access it back in your office, you'll want to share the markup (there are a couple ways you can do so, based on what you need to do back in the office), and then consume it.
