Identify Widget for FlexViewer 2.1

I have been waiting for the Final release of the FlexViewer 2.1 before I started to push out some widgets I have been working on.

Here is my Identify Widget for Flex Viewer 2.1. I have tested to ensure proper functioning with FlexViewer 2.1 and am now releasing it to you since the API Team did not get one into the FlexViewer.

What geometry type is the Cadastre map service layer? For testing can you add another field to your fields element, like LEGAL_AREA,SOME_OTHER_FIELD? This issue is strange and I have not run up against it before.

Still having issues with Identify Widget.

Cadastre layer is a polygon layer, with about 20 different fields and I have tried mupltiple fields/alias.
I have tried point & line layers with no luck.

Hi,

I have used Robert's Identify widget in my Flex app, however it is only returning attributes for the first field I define and not the others. Does this make sense? I am a total newbie at this, basically hacking my way through it. Below I have copied the text from my IdentifyWidget.xml. The two layers I have set up the Identify for are Sampling Stations and Classification Areas. The tool works great, but only returns values for the Station_ID field (for the Sampling Stations layer) and Area Classification (for the Classification Areas layer) but no other fields I have defined. I am stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

PS - I am using the uncompiled version 2.1.7 of the Identify widget.

The fields specified have to be the aliases of the fields if they have one.

Yes, I'm pretty confident I downloaded version 2.1, it was just within the last month or so and the zip file says 2.1, is there a better way to know for sure? Sorry if that's a stupid question. The map services were created with ArcGIS Server 9.3, would that matter? Again, sorry for being such a neophyte, these forums have really helped me figure this out and 99% of the responses have been from you, so THANK YOU! esri should be sending you a paycheck!

What I really meant was which version of my widget are you using the latest is 2.1.7. I think I remember where some one was like you using a 9.3 map service and had an issue are you still running ArcGIS Server 9.3?

Oh, I see, whoops. Yes, the widget is definitely 2.1.7 and we are still using ArcGIS Server 9.3. We have 10, just haven't installed it yet. Maybe this is enough of a reason to make the upgrade. That and your dynamic legend, haha.

I am having the same issues. The identify tool is only displaying results for the first field, even though I am using field Alias names. I am also on 9.3.1 server and 2.1.7 identify widget, so any ideas would be very helpful!

I am having the same issue where the widget is only populating the data for the first field. I am using Server 9.3.1 and version 2.7.1 of the widget. When I visit this link http://gis.calhouncounty.org/IdentExample/index.html?config=config-identify.xml to test the tool the problem occurs as well. Any help would be great! Thank You

After some testing I have found that if your fields list has a space after the comma then that causes an issue. See if that is the issue you are having. Make sure you clear your browser cache so that your modified xml gets used. The next version will address this issue.

Like many others, I'm grateful for this widget. However, when I use it, I get "invalid layer ID specified" and no results. My dynamic layer(s) are visible and I'm really just looking at ID the Parcels layer....not sure what's going on. I'm new to Flex, so any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

That error likely means that you do not have the IdentifyWidget.xml configured correctly.

Sure. Oddly, I was able to get it to work with the storm sewer layer just fine. I renamed the parcels layer to "Land Parcels" to no avail. Thanks again for your help!

A guess.... The identify works on layers that are in a feature dataset. It isn't working on stand alone feature classes?

this should probably be in the search thread, but is there an option to keep the graphical search active like you can with the identify tool?

If you look a couple of post above you will see the work around to this issue is to make sure your comma separated list of fields do not have a space after the comma. Once you edit your xml file ensure your clear your browsers cache. As far as the keepAlive with graphical search no there is no such option currently.

Hi Guys, i'm having an issue using multiple feature layers with the this great widget. when i used the widget with a mapserver i had no problems, but since switching to feature layers it's not working as i hoped.

i've got 4 feature layers, but only 1 get's identified, although i get 4 results all for the same point from the same layer. Only the 1 layer (MapServer/0) responds to the tool, but returns 4 identical results.

i'm using arcgis server 9.3.1 and the 2.1.7 widget

i've looked through this post and the fourms but can't seem to find an answer, i imagine upgrading to server 10 would help but that's an option at the moment unfortunatley!

I tried to reproduce your issue and I was not able to. So my question is in your IdentifyWidget.xml you have names like "33 Bligh St Borehole Logs" is that the actual layer name for http://bnewsd02/ArcGIS/rest/services/gINT_flex_test/MapServer/3 as it is listed in the REST Services directory, Not just the label that you assigned it in the main config?

thanks for getting back to me! i got rid of some redundant commented out code, cleaned my project, restarted the computer overnight and then this morning all was well!

in response to your question yes the layer names that i've called in the IndentifyWidget.xml are exactly as they are in the REST directory.

Dear Robert,
I have used the new Indentify Widget, its great, but one thing: In this widget, when I identify one feature, the information show on the widget, after I move the mouse over the information, an additional info popup on the location that I clicked. I want to popup the information box on a mapclick on that point at the same time with the information shown on the widget, how can I do that?
