@JeffShaner , after redeploying our maps after the group search SNAFU of 25.0. I'm reminded again that BUG-000149944 for ArcGIS Field Maps is still not considered a priority.Basic search functionality is unusable, and is one of the reasons that prevents me from recommending rolling out Field Maps across our organisation.
Thanks for the update @PaulCone2 ! As always, let us know if you run into any other troubles.
@PiyaliKundu2 map is online. We resolved our issue by making a change on our end. Our locator is custom code that mimics an Esri locator, and it seems that with this update to FieldMaps it is being more discriminating about its interactions with our locator than a standard map is. So, we had to update the API key checking that we do to work around your app update and allow it to geocode without a key.
@PaulCone2 - Are your users working from the online map, offline areas (adhoc or preplanned), MMPK and/or in scenarios where they are in low connectivity or possibly completely disconnected?
@MiaogengZhang PM'd you
Hello @MiaogengZhang good morning!
Yes, we have SAML configured in our ArcGis Enterprise 10.9.1
@JohnMoore12 What is the case number? We are working closely with the Support on the case.
@MiaogengZhang that url you provided 404's. I have users experiencing similar issues through our MDM provider, but are able to successfully access field maps on their personal devices. I have a support case open.
Hi @ChrisDunn1,
Esri France Technical Support analyst, here.
BUG-000179817 seems to be still reproduced in Field Maps 25.2.3 on Android.
I just tested with a Map Image Layer containing a group layer with two layers, configured the search by layer on one layer. Works fine in the webmap, no result in Field Maps.
Jonathan
@emarcelloni The log is similar to this https://support.esri.com/en-us/bug/android-users-are-unable-to-log-into-certain-arcgis-ent-bug-000179998. Is it SAML with Enterprise 10.9.1? If so, we are working on a fix for that.
Hello everybody, good morning!
In our case, the login problem arises only with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 when using Android OS and the Field Maps app version 25.2.0 or higher (including 25.2.3).I also tested it against ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2, and the login problem did not occur.
When we use Field Maps version 25.1.0, everything works fine!
Map is in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1, using composite geocoder is there.
I'm heading out until Tuesday but will tag others to follow up.
Paul
Hi @PaulCone2 ,
The fix that went out for search was specifically for feature layer search in group layers. Is your map in ArcGIS Online or Enterprise? And where is your custom geocoder hosted? If you are on Enterprise, which version are you on?
If you haven't already, please open up a support case for the custom geocoder not working, I don't think I've seen similar cases come through so this sounds like an issue we weren't already aware of. Support can help begin tracking down the cause.
Chris
@JeffShaner our sewer locators just updated to 25.2.2 and it appears the search BUG-000179817 has not been squashed. Search is still not finding results By Address. Only search By Layer works. Effect is they have to type the entire address, so it gets found in the Taxlot layer. By Address should give them (partial) results from our custom geocoder but it's still not working.
Hi @ebwhite ,
We are aware of the issue and are investigating. At the moment, it appears the quickest way to get Integrated to show back up is to simply uninstall Field Maps and then re-install it. If that is not an option let me know, meanwhile we will continue investigating. If this is blocking your mobile workers from completing work then consider opening a support case to help facilitate testing.
I have reports from users that attempting to login to our AGOL portal is causing the application to crash since the update (Android 25.2.2) when using a Samsung Galaxy phone.
I have personally attempted to log in via multiple devices to our AGOL org with no issue so wanted to raise this flag as an edge case for anyone else.
Update: more users have called in and are unable to access field maps with the platform crashing when attempting to login in. The application will close after attempting to sign into ArcGIS Online or after putting in our AGOL org url into ArcGIS Enterprise prompt. Users have been able to access field maps with no crashing when downloading the application outside of our org's MDM. I believe there is a deeper issue here. in contact with Customer support now. Android update 25.2.3 did not resolve this issue.
Hi @JeffShaner, some of our staff reported that "Integrated" was missing from their list of providers following the update. How do you re-add it? I was able to preserve Integrated by having it selected as my provider prior to going through the app update, but others were not as lucky if they had a different GPS provider selected.
Hi @JeffShaner
I have tested our webmaps on Field Maps ver 25.2.1. A month ago we migrated our GAS pipeling data from APDM to UPDM. And we still have the old one runnning including the webmaps. It seems the old webmaps are working well and it is only the webmaps with featurelayers from UPDM that is not working. Have you maked sure the new Field Maps version are compatible with all versions of UN/UPDM?
Hello @JeffShaner ,You mentioned that your team is working on fixing the SAML login issue. Could you please let me know if you have an estimated timeline for when we will receive the urgently needed patch?
@ChrisBerryman tonight I submitted 25.2.2 (iOS) and 25.2.3 (Android) patches that include fixes for the search issue (BUG-000179817). Depending on the store approval process you could see an update tomorrow or Thursday. I'm going to put a new community blog out when they are approved so this information about patches is more centrally located.
Regarding the duplicate layer issue you mention, this is in progress with our Maps SDK team but no ETA on a resolution yet.
@RyanJalynskii the Apple App Store and Google Play do not support rolling back to previous version.
@RichlandGIS can you submit this issue to Esri Support so we can track it down please? If it is only happening with some 10.9.1 map services, we'll need to sort out what's unique about them that causes the rendering issue.
@chill_gis_dude we had to publish some temporary services removing our layers from layer groups - this has search mostly working.Agree on the work trying to convince the business to trust the Esri systems, but I've stopped trying over the last 12 months with the list of problems we've experienced. We were starting a POC to replace our legacy in-house mobile mapping solution with Field Maps, but I'm not even going to push it or consider it an option anymore because I don't want to be the one explaining to the business why the entirety of our field crew is sitting idle.
Don't see this reported yet, but it appears to be changing symbology of some mapservices from 10.9.1.
My 'dashed' lines that symbolize abandoned lines are now showing as solid, active lines.
Still looks like they are supposed to in the mapviewer, but when the same map is opened in Field Maps app, not so.
Still working as expected on 25.1.0. Too bad I wasn't able to stop the automatic install on most of our iOS devices 🙂

Should really just roll back to the previous version and put this one back in beta until its fixed.
@JeffShaner any eta yet on that next patch?
Also have other users reported issues with editing a layer that has a related table that has been added to the map multiple times to filter out various features via filters to group similar features? We noticed editing errors on Field Maps, but when we remove the duplicated layers and have just one the editing works as normal.
We had gotten an "unable to submit" error.
@chill_gis_dude our next patch will include a fix to search (on both iOS and Android).
We're working hard on fixing these regressions as quickly as we can and appreciate your having put trust in Esri for providing a solution to your organization. Hopefully we can win that back.
I want to add on that as others have said... We are constantly having to convince teams to trust our ESRI made products. It's not easy to get people to trust the new app and if trust were a ship, ESRI just shot a cannon ball through the mast of the ship.
Any update on when we will be able to search again? Does anyone have an immediate workaround?
Field workers sitting idle because they don't know where to go...
Where is ESRI's quality control?
@Mattmillos84 ,
For the "unable to attach" issue you are seeing, that has been reported by others and we are actively working on a fix. If you haven't already, opening a case with support will be the best way to be informed of when there is a fix available.
For the keyboard issue, unfortunately that is a problem with Samsung numeric keyboards. We recommend installing the GBoard google keyboard and making it the default for your device, that will include the minus sign.
I hope that helps!
@JeffShaner I saw the above comment in your post, while I understand disabling editing of geometry, my users are unable to interact with records with true curves even when attribute only editing is configured. I need my users to be able to edit attributes of records true curves and attach photos via Field maps, is that not possible anymore with this update and moving forward? I have the following configuration on my referenced web layer but users cannot edit attributes for any records with true curves:
This configuration allowed editing of attributes and attachments for records with true curves in the 25.1.X release.
Please go back to 25.1.0!
We have so many issues on this one and so many field workers can´t do their job. It has been a struggle to get the field workers to use and like Field Maps instead of plain paper. Now they must go back to paper to be able to do their job... How do I get them to trust the app again when it is fixed?
