Help community,
I've been off ArcGIS Online a few years and need to confirm expected behaviour/user error in creating an. Ironically now I'm off Enterprise and Sites for Enterprise, ArcGIS Online has switched Hub product name to ArcGIS Site from ArcGIS Hub!
Anywho, I currently have: ArcGIS Online + Organisational subscription + Admin user type + Hub Basic license - This should = Click create "site" and off you go. As at March 2025.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to deploy a Site. I also earnt how to perform the same workflow to create Site in the new workspaces set-up and unfortunately no help. I've tried to revert workspace and attempt again, no help. I note that my user type has all required privileges assigned in a1/2 administrator available roles. Yet to test with another user type that's not an administrator.
Observed issue with deployment: after clicking create site, initialiser appears and then fails at "failed to create Initiative" and then "whoops, something went wrong.... back to overview"
@AndrewTurner @MariaJordan - I hope you don't mind me directly tagging you both, would really appreciate any info on Basic licenses and if there is any known issues emerging?
I can see that in the ArcGIS Hub changelog in Jan 2025 that there was: "Improved permission verification during content creation to ensure that non-premium users can only create basic entities (e.g., Pages and Sites) and are restricted from accessing premium entities (e.g., Projects, Initiatives, Events).". Noting that I observed the "Failed to create Initiative" in a create Site workflow, I'm a bit concerned something is a bit askew but nevertheless I'd appreciate a confirmation prior to lodging anything with Esri support if an update is in store.
Thankyou for your time,
GDA3000 😎
