Turn AXF layer labels on and off via ArcPad applet

Is there a way to turn an AXF layer's labels on and off (set SIMPLELABELRENDERER visible = true or false) from an applet? I am trying to create an applet form with a single checkbox that users can use to turn labels on or off for multiple AXF layers, but it appears that the label property of a layer is not exposed.

Hi Ingrid,

The trick that we've used in the past is to add the layer twice but, each instance, has different symbology.

Then your problem becomes a simple matter of alternating which layer is visible / invisible.
