ArcGIS Pro Organization License Revocation - Can I still access my content on ArcGIS Online?

Hi all,

I was a student taking a GIS class this past semester and we had a Concurrent license for ArcGIS Pro, which was managed by one of our IT staff at my college. Since we're not in the class anymore, our licenses will be removed at some point. Obviously we won't be able to do anything in ArcGIS Pro, but I was wondering if losing my organizational license would prevent me from viewing my projects on ArcGIS Online. Does our account just turn into a basic free account with limited access? I'd like to reference my past projects in the future, so I want to be sure I can see my stuff even after my license is taken away.

If anyone knows how this works, please let me know 🙂

So in ArcGIS Online, the administrator oversees portal members and he/she can remove you from the portal. This is a separate workflow item from the Concurrent Use licensing of ArcGIS Pro. The portal items you have with the organization are accessible as long as you can log into the portal. With a free ArcGIS Online login, there are limitations as you'd expect. So with Concurrent use licensing, ArcGIS Pro is managed via a license manager so when the license is removed, you will no longer be able to use ArcGIS Pro or open your *.aprx's. Question for you - for your ArcGIS Online account - are you using the free account login or do you have a defined user type/role based subscription as referenced here. As an aside, you can get ArcGIS for Personal Use here and use it for educational purposes. That might help too!

I must have a defined user type/role because we never needed to create a free account--ArcGIS logins for both Pro and Online were linked to our school emails so we logged in with our "organization's URL." I did create a free account for personal keeping and transferred my content already just in case I would lose access.

I recognize that I won't be able to use ArcGIS Pro or open my project file, but I wasn't sure if that inaccessibility applied to ArcGIS Online as well. From ArcGIS Online, I wouldn't expect to be able to edit the content since some of those files require the use of ArcGIS Pro, but simply viewing the content through ArcGIS Online (like the Web Maps, WFL_1 file, etc.) is what I'm curious about.
