Finding Angles?

Question

So I'm reproducing some old claim plat maps onto ArcGIS Online and the line measuring tools has proven extremely valuable.  However, I'd like to pinpoint some features on the map (houses, etc) which are located by an offset from a plat corner a certain number of feet along a plat border and then an angle and distance from that point out into the enclosed claim area.  The distance I can do but I can't measure out 40 degrees NW.  Any ideas or plans to include an angle measuring tool in a later release?  Thanks!

Hi Alex,

The 'Undo' feature is in the works for the next version of Explorer Online. As for calculating angles, it is an interesting and useful feature.You can submit it in the 'New Ideas' section here:

ESRIWell.. okay, I found a work around but it's an exercise in geometry.   I calculated a right triangle with one corner that was the angle I wanted and then drew two lines the required length each starting at a common vertex to make a 90 degree angle.  Then I used the area tool to connect the 3 vertices and moved the resulting triangle to where I needed it, used the angle, and then deleted the area object.  Phew.... so a measure tool or an angle tool would be good to have.

Oh yeah, and an "undo" button.
