“Terra-i: An eye on habitat change” is a monitoring system in near real time that detects habitat changes over Latin America and the Caribbean with a spatial resolution of 250 m and temporal resolution of 16 days. The tool, which generates predictive models supported by the use of neural networks and satellite data of vegetation indices (NDVI/MODIS) and precipitation (3B42/TRMM), is able to detect, from 2004 to the current year, the standard deviation from the normal natural cycle of vegetation over time that can be associated with anthropogenic impacts.
