I'm using the “hide-input” type in the appearance column for the geopoint but I don’t see any difference in the map interface on the web form… the lat/long and altitude input boxes remain. I’m using survey123 connect version 2.6.6

This is a bug in 2.6. From 2.7 the hide_input appearance applied to a gp question will look like this:
