What units is maxDeviation in Esri.ArcGISRuntime.Geometry.GeometryEngine.Generalize ?

Question

Trying to generalize some geometry to a 10 meter maxDeviation. When I use 10 as my maxDeviation, no generalization occurs. When I divide 10 by ~315 I get a little too much generalization. It's clear to me that the units of maxDeviation are not meters, but what are they? Polygons are lat/lon and datum is WGS84.

Generalization is usually done using what is now known as the Ramer-Douglas-Peucker algorithm.  The units of the deflection parameter (epsilon) is in Cartesian mapping units (for WGS84, Cartesian degrees).  Ten meters would be on the order of 0.0001 degrees (near the equator).
