Cannot type in lat/long into map when offline

Question

I just found from the crew that if you are offline you cannot type in custom lat/longs into the little map.

Why?  How can my crew use the type in feature offline then?  Would a tpk help?

Hi Doug,

Currently you cannot enter the manual entry mode of the map when offline and there is not a TPK.  Have a TPK (even if only a few levels) will enable entry.

Yea but I do not want to geocode i just want to type in a decimal degrees lat/long.  I should be able to at enter that as text.

I believe the search function is referencing the ESRI geocoding services so you'd have to be online. I believe you can add your own geocoding service. Maybe something to google and see what others have done.
