The Create Map Tile Package tool sees the map in the project and gives a drop down but Manage Tile Cache does not and I can find nothing it likes.
It wants a mosaic layer, raster layer or ArcMap document
if you park your mouse over the little 'i's the context sensitive help appears.
You can read about them in detail here....
Manage Tile Cache—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop
but it is looking for raster dataset, mosaic dataset, or a map document.
Yea but there is no MXD it is Pro.
an mxd is arcmap 10.4 an *aprx is a Pro project
What I am saying is what if you had pro only. You can not use this tool? Seems like it did not get updated. I guess only way is to create the map in ArcMap then run it in Pro. Weird.
ArcGIS Pro at 1.2 is not yet a mature product. I also ran into this problem, and it's annoying. It would be nice if Esri updated the ArcGIS Pro geoprocessing tools to accept the active map or a map file (MAPX) instead of MXD.
Problem is still there at 1.3...
Fixed at 1.4.1!
Nope, the Problem still persists.
Version: 1.4.1 -> GDB Mosaic Dataset, Raster Layers or Map Documents(MXD) are 4 choose.
There is still no way to generate a TileCache out of ArcGis Pro !
I tried to load an MXD File(10.3), this forced the Error 999999 😕
You're right, I wasn't looking at that tool. The create map tile package tool works fine, however.
Problem is back in 2.0. The Manage Tile cache tool still requires a .mxd. When I make a mxd in ArcMap and try to use it i get a weird 9999 error.
When can we use these tools in Pro?
