Should it work? Get token for ArcGIS Server programmaticaly

Hi,

We try to get token programmaticaly with URL

https://anygisdomain.com/arcgis/tokens/request=gettoken&username=USER&password=PSW&clientid=ref.http://www.anyreferrerdomain.com&expiration=1&f=json

Or in short (from ESRI help: If client and expiration parameters are not included, a short lived token will be generated and expiration will use the short-lived token time-out setting) see the link ArcGIS Desktop

https://anygisdomain.com/arcgis/tokens/request=gettoken&username=USER&password=PSW

It returns (test in Chrome) - "Server Error in '/arcgis' Application."

What could be done?

What we doing wrong?
