Creating Routes

Hi

I am trying to create a route using an existing polyline feature class and specifiying the measure value that is an attribute within the feature class.  The problem is, the resulting route always comes back with the geometric length rather than the length in the attribute that I specifiy.  Any ideas why?  thx

Please screen shot the inputs to the Create Route tool.  Without that it is hard to say what is going on.  Also, what version of ArcMap and Windows are you using?.  It may not matter, but it is a potential factor to consider.
