selection features not highlighting

Question

We just migrated our ArcPad 7 implementation to ArcPad 10.2. Mostly everything is okay. Except on the first find or selection, the feature doesn't highlight until about 3- clicks to find. Once the first feature is found the rest of them highlight. Any tips on what to look for in the code?

Out of curiosity, do you have 10.2.3 version (which appears to be the latest version)? What OS is running on your HP Elitebook?

Yes, the application works more consistently on the desktop. It is only on the portable device, and HP Elitebook. that the highlight problem is consistent.

I assume this is on a portable device? What kind of device is this on? And does the same behavior ensue on the desktop side? (I was wondering if you compared your desktop select/find operation to your portable device select/find operation if the behavior is different or not).
