ArcMap layers and colors to AutoCAD or text file

I am running:
Windoze 7
ACAD Map 3D 2010
ArcGIS 10

In the process of developing a set of geological mapping standards which will be usable in ArcGIS, ACAD and CorelDraw along with other programs that we use, I have been attempting to export a list of colors from a geological formation layer in Arc. There are ~20 formations in the layer and I was hoping to avoid the necessity of manually determining the RGB color code for each. I was able to add layer and color columns to the attribute table, but I am unable to populate the color column with the colors in the map.
