Attribute table showing "null" values after joining another table

Hello,

I just finished geocoding a large dataset and joined a table to my shape file to complete the table. I edited the data and formatted the table without any issues; however, when I save and close the editing the attribute table shows "null" values for all my joined data. How do I fix this issue?

I had a similar issue the other day, where I joined based on zip codes, but it turned out one was a number field and one was a text field. When I converted the number field to a text field and joined them again, it worked.
