Best practices for MXD PlottingTemplate

Hi,

I am working with more than 100 Topographic Maps using same Legend elements except some variables, for each one I have to create an MXD Plotting Template.

What is the best practice to manage these mxds ?

Hi Mostafa,

You can modify One of your MXDs to fit your general Layout demands and then use the "Change Layout" command to apply it to all the other MXDs.

There are 2 ways which might help you with automation of the process with different approaches:

1. Using Python code

2. Using Data Driven Pages (One MXD for all the maps).

You can also combine these 2 methods.
