Show/Hide widget for a group of users

Question

Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to show or hide a widget for a specific user group. 
I have been building a Portal Application and I'd like to display the edit widget for some user that are on activity directory group and hide for others users.

Is it possible?

Confirming that hiding/showing certain widgets in Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS based on Windows Active Directory memberships in Portal is not possible.

I am not sure if you want to restrict the ability to create web apps that have the Edit widget, or if you just want to restrict editing functionality in general. May I suggest: you could assign Portal members to different Portal roles: one with edit privileges and one without.

You will need separate web apps.

That is a functionality I would like to see however.
