Basemap Thumbnails - Bing

I am trying to place a thumbnail picture in the basemaps box for the Bing map(s) I have added to our Basemap layers.

I have tried following these instructions, but am still missing something.

I have tried both:

<layer label="Streets" type="Bing" visible="true"  alpha="1" style="road" culture="en-US" icon="https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/d8855ee4d3d74413babfb0f41203b168/info/thumbnail/tempstreets.jpg" />

as well as:

<layer label="Streets" type="Bing" visible="true"  alpha="1" style="road" culture="en-US" icon="assets/images/image.jpg" />

And still get this:

[ATTACH=CONFIG]23576[/ATTACH]

Any ideas?

I the link below to a previous forum post I have a zipfile with all the basemap thumbsnails in it so you can add them to your local flex viewer project.
