I enable security for gis services.
when i log in as Administrator to access http://xyz/ArcGIS/rest/services/SecurityFolder/World/Mapserver or
use javascript api, all processes are correct.
But if i enable ArcGIS server token serivice on this computer via http://xyz/ArcGIS/Manager/default.aspx
i will got Folder:/ Unautherized acces error when i tried to access http://xyz/ArcGIS/rest/services/SecurityFolder/World/Mapserver again although it looks like i logged in already.

I am using Arcgis server 9.3, and IE 7.

I have no idea what is going on, Thank you

Any update on this. I am able to get secure folder through browser by providing username and password. But getting 'Invalid token' error while trying to access it though REST API via PHP curl

according to this post i changed server name to ip address still no map.

have you a token static (long token) or in proxy do you ask a token dynamic (so without referer)?

In silver light I can request a token successfully but when I put it into the map service I get the 'Unauthorized error".

Any luck solving this? I am having the same problem. Everything works fine until I turn security on. Users and roles are stored in SQL.

Hi there,

I'm receiving the same unauthorized error when attempting to access the service via token authentication.

I am using SQL server express as my security store, and attempting to access the service through an admin accout, which has permissions set up to access the service.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

if i enable token services, then he can not access. Why?
i try to use gettoken.html to get token, i can get token string, i put string into map application(http://xyz/demo.html)
the map is empty.

Please make sure that the Security settings for this map service is correct. For example, the Role of the User that generates the token, should be allowed access to this Map Service or the folder in which the MapService is published. The following help topic provides detailed information on setting up users/roles when implementing security using SQL Server.

Please make sure the logged in user belongs to a role that is allowed access to this folder.
