Can .Net Runtime SDK be used in web service

Hi, I have webservice in which .net ADF has been used to peform the print task, it takes help of server context and expoprts the extent in mxd to pdf...can I do the same thing with Arcgis Runtime SDK for .Net since .net web adf is obsolete now
